Hotelida Exhibition at Seoul Art Center, Korea

The king enjoyed looking at the mirror ball while drinking wine. He was drunk under the mirror ball all day, everyday. Then, one day, he exploded. Or, he spilled some wine on his clothes and went to change them.

It is a personal theme of the artist. This room could appears in his dream. The crown is a symbol of himself and his long-time signature icon. The space under the shining mirror balls represent emptiness and shame on himself that he feels in his real life. You can see his unique way of expression; There is always paradox between the theme and his drawing techniques, pop and qute shpapes and playful lines.

「王様はワインを飲みながらミラーボールを見るのを楽しんでいた。彼は毎日毎日ずっとミラーボールの下で飲み続けた。そうして間ある日、彼は爆発した。それとも、ワインをこぼして着替えに行った」

これは作家の個人的なテーマ。夢に出て来そうなこの部屋。きらきらするミラーボールの空間は華やかに見える現実にある自身の空虚感を表す。王冠は作家自身を象徴する。ペインティングにずっと使っている作家のサインでもある。可愛い形と溌剌なラインで、独特なパラドックスを表現するのが作家の特徴。

韓国ソウル、SeoulArtCenterであった展示会のオープニング。

김봉남선생님도 와주셨어요. 나보고도 자르라고 했는데, 먼저 사진을 찍는데 집중~
the Grand Openning, many guests and designers came.

재즈밴드도 와주셨어요. celebratory jazz concert!

이렇게 많은 귀빈들과 화려한 행사가 있을 줄 알았으면, 좀 더 멋지게 이거저거 준비할껄~ 나는 와인 한잔에 취해버렸어. i drunk only 1 glass of wine, but i got drunk after that.

행사 내내 수고하신 이수민 큐레이터님과 싱글룸의 원소희씨~ 그녀의 작품과 컨셉에 완전 반했버렸지. LEE, the curator of the Hangaram Design Museum ,Won, the Artist of the Single Room. ps. actually my Tshirt is for ladies.

카드형식의 재미있는 도록. 시뮬레이션작품과 실제 작품은 차이가 좀 나요.

내 작품은 작품의 내용보다는 ㅋㅋ 포토월로 인기가 좀 있는 편이야. people used my art as a photo wall. haha.

I produced the official website of the exhibition, "designmade2007; Hotelida"

"디자인메이드2007; 호텔이다" 공식사이트 오픈!
이러저러한 기회에 예술의 전당에서 그룹전, "디자인메이드2007; 호텔이다" 전시참여와 아트디렉터로서 웹사이트 개발, 행사이미지를 제작하였다. 디자이너 이프로니의 타이포와 로고디자인, 사진작가 김아영의 훌륭한 호텔이미지가 있어서 쉽게 작업을 진행할 수 있었다. 작가수에 맞춰 세운 건물의 각 창문을 클릭해, 작가의 이미지와 만나는 실험적인 디자인. http://www.designmade.org

어머니께서는 "예술의전당에서 전시하는 것이 별거냐~" ^^;;라고도 하셨지만, 서초동에서 자라고 예술의전당 앞에서 회사를 다니며 매일같이 이 곳을 늘 드나들었던 나로써는 이곳에서의 행사가 무척 설레이는 일이다. 예술의전당의 연못가, 분수대, 계단,... 그 모든 공간에 아직 추억이 살아 나를 기다리고 있을 것만 같다. 그 사람도 햇살 가득했던 이 곳의 봄날을 좋았던 시간으로 추억하고 있기를...

런던에서 토쿄로 돌아온지 3일만에 다시 한국행 가방을 싸고있다.
